TransEurope members from Belgium, UK and France in sailing trophy!

To celebrate the last trip made by Emperor Charles V throughout Europe, the new Spanish marina of Laredo (Cantabria) organises a sailing rally, open to a wide range of sailing boats, from August 26th to September 3rd, 2011, cruising local waters or racing further offshore. The participants will visit Ghent, the emperor’s birthplace in Flanders, take the start in Nieuwpoort Euromarina, call at Royal Castle Marina, in Gosport (U.K), then head to Saint-Quay Port d’Armor (France), and finish in Laredo, after a stop-over in Lorient-Kernevel (France). This event is an idéal opportunity to join a friendly initiative taken by the city of Laredo in cooperation with the Flemish authorities, benefit from free moorings and a spécial welcome package in the
different host cities, and enjoy the “TransEurope Marinas touch”, in Nieuwpoort, Gosport and St-Quay ! If you plan to sail southwards and the end of this summer to cross the Atlantic in autumn, this rally is for you. You can even join the fleet en route if you prefer leaving from England or Brittany.
