I am a British, Jersey or Guernsey yachtsman and would like to visit the Port of Saint-Quay-Portrieux in France:
– I send the completed notice form (entering and leaving form) to the port office 24 hours before my arrival, or if I’m staying less than 24 hours, when I leave my home port.
– The port office sends the completed form to the Saint-Brieuc Customs department, which returns the form validated to the port office.
– The port office returns the Customs stamped form to me, and I keep a copy on board in case of an unannounced Customs inspection (in port or at sea).
– I can sail or cruise in Brittany with this document, but if I wish to make other stopovers outside this region (e.g. Normandy), I must contact the Saint-Brieuc Customs office, which will inform the other regional Customs offices.
– When leaving the Schengen area, it is recommended to return to ports that are not official ports of entry.
– If I haven’t filled in my return date, I will send another completed form back to the port office, which forwards it to the Customs department. The latter approves it with a stamp, returns it to the port office which sends it back to me.
– Otherwise, when I leave the Schengen area, I must go through a PPF port of entry.
